Complementary Therapies & HIV
Complementary (natural) therapies may assist in bolstering or adding to immune and general health, however they cannot suppress and treat HIV.
Because some natural therapies and supplements may interact with any medications (including your HIV treatment) it is always important to discuss your use of specific natural therapies with your specialist doctor and/or pharmacist.
Other forms of complementary therapies that you can undertake at any time include:
- Acupuncture
- Aromatherapy
- Massage
- Meditation and
- Yoga etc.
In the end, the choice is individual, but always talk to your doctor or one of the QPP team if you are unsure.
