Queensland Positive People (QPP) is seeking an experienced Team Leader to establish and lead an innovative new statewide service delivering counselling and peer-led groupwork to the communities we serve.

About the role: Team Leader

The primary purpose of the Team Leader is to support the establishment and ongoing coordination of an innovative statewide pilot model of LGBTIQA+ affirming, HIV-informed mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) support. The position leads the delivery of integrated counselling and peer groupwork services across Queensland through telehealth and in-person delivery. It provides line management and supervision to the Wellbeing+ team and supports high-quality, accessible and affirming service delivery.

The position also maintains a direct practice component through the provision of a limited counselling caseload and facilitation of peer support groupwork activities, as required. As a newly established pilot program, the Team Leader contributes to the establishment, implementation, embedding and ongoing refinement of the service model.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, occupational therapy or another relevant allied health or behavioural health discipline.
• Current registration or accreditation with the relevant professional body.
• The provision of a National Police Check of six months currency (or international check if lived overseas in the last 12 months) or evidence that a National Police Check has been applied for.
• A current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• Demonstrated experience in the delivery of counselling, therapeutic interventions and groupwork within mental health and/or AOD services, using a range of evidence-informed therapeutic modalities and trauma-informed, person-centred and harm reduction approaches.
• Demonstrated experience in line managing a multidisciplinary team, including staff wellbeing, professional development, performance management and fostering a positive and reflective team culture.
• Demonstrated experience in providing practice oversight, supervision and secondary consultation, including supporting staff to assess and manage complex presentations, risk and duty of care.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating community-based service delivery, including managing service demand and capacity, overseeing access and referral pathways, supporting continuity of care, and ensuring compliance with relevant service and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and service providers, with an understanding of LGBTIQA+ affirming practice and the health and wellbeing needs of people living with and affected by HIV.

QPP – Health Services Operations Coordinator – Part Time – 12 Month Contract

Queensland Positive People (QPP) is looking for a part-time, 12-month contract Health Services Operations Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of QPP’s integrated community health services across the RAPID Program.

This is a unique cross-functional opportunity for an experienced health services or operations professional to coordinate the systems, processes, digital technologies and resources that underpin a diverse portfolio of services, including the Nurse Practitioner Service, Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) counselling, and peer-led Point of Care Testing.

Working as part of QPP’s Operations Team and in close collaboration with the RAPID Program Manager and multidisciplinary teams, the Coordinator will help establish and continuously improve the operational foundations that enable these services to work together effectively. Key initial priorities include coordinating the transition and establishment of health information systems and digital health technologies and supporting the operational establishment of QPP’s new statewide Mental Health and AOD counselling service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

• Monitor operational expenditure, resources and stock levels.
• Coordinate procurement of clinical equipment and medical consumables.
• Identify opportunities for efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
• Build effective relationships across QPP’s health and operational teams.
• Liaise with external suppliers and service providers to resolve operational matters.
• Support strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and services.

To ensure your success in such a position, we are seeking candidates who display:

• Relevant qualification in health, business administration/management or a related discipline.
• Experience in healthcare management, clinical administration and day-to-day service operations.
• Experience implementing or transitioning health information systems or practice management software.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and implement change.
• Experience supporting quality improvement, accreditation, compliance and procedural implementation.
• Highly developed organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Understanding of the health needs of people living with HIV and/or LGBTIQA+ communities, with a strong commitment to inclusive, person-centred care.
• Experience in community health, sexual health, mental health, AOD, primary healthcare or not-for-profit environments is desirable.
• Training in quality improvement, clinical governance or healthcare quality systems is desirable.
• First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
• Current Queensland Blue Card (or equivalent) and a current National Police Check are required.
• Demonstrated Hepatitis B immunity is required.

Remuneration:

A highly competitive salary package is on offer, including:

About QPP

Queensland Positive People (QPP) is a peer-led, community-based organisation committed to improving the lives of all people living with HIV and helping reduce new transmissions of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) across Queensland.

QPP delivers accredited community health and social services throughout Queensland, including:

• HIV and STI testing and treatment services
• Peer navigation and case management
• Community development and social support
• Advocacy for people living with HIV and affected communities.

QPP currently employs 43 staff and manages an annual budget of more than $5 million.

Commitment

Board members serve in a voluntary capacity, with remuneration available in accordance with the Health Consumers Queensland Remuneration Guidelines. All reasonable travel and meeting expenses are reimbursed.

The Board meets 5-6 times per year:

• Four to five online meetings of approximately two hours each
• One annual full day in-person strategic planning and governance meeting
