IAS 2023 Community Social Event
CALLING FOR PLHIV COMMUNITY PERFORMERS & TALENT
22 July 2023, 6-10pm
Pleasuredome, Brisbane Powerhouse, New Farm
QPP is seeking Expressions of Interest from local musicians and performers with a connection to the diverse community of people living with HIV (PLHIV), and our allies.
The International AIDS Society (IAS): 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science is being hosted in Brisbane from 23-26 July. Queensland Positive People (QPP) is coordinating several community engagement and city activation events on Saturday 22 July. The key event is the Community Social Hub Event and launch of the HIV Stigma Campaign at The Pleasuredome, Brisbane Powerhouse.
We are looking for a variety of interesting, engaging, and cool performances adding to a fabulous evening line-up of performers, singers, drag stars, DJ’s and other short-length acts bringing a full and dynamic mix of entertainment and pleasure to our guests.
Musicians and performers will be selected through an Expression of Interest process, overseen by QPP’s Social Working Group panel, who will select successful performers based on merit, connection to PLHIV and QPP, availability and price. All local musicians and performers, including First Nations performers, musicians from diverse cultures, and performers with disability are encouraged to apply.
There is NO requirement for PLHIV performers to disclose status and this will not form part of the selection criteria, however we are interested to hear why you feel or claim your performance is relevant for our social event audience and supports our focus celebrating PLHIV.
