Ways we can connect with you
Peer Navigators offer a tentative, safe first step if you are nervous about accessing one of the mainstream HIV services, or if you have concerns about discretion and confidentiality.
A time-limited, structured ‘out-reach’ intervention (up to 5 sessions) will then allow you to explore the social, health and emotional issues which you may be experiencing. If you need longer, we may be able to extend this service (e.g. up to 10 sessions), or make referrals into other treatment and support areas within QPP.
Your Peer Navigator will have the flexibility to connect with you in a number of ways, settings and times that suit you:
- Generally 8am – 8pm, Monday to Friday (some after-hours may be possible).
- Face-to- face meetings (also phone, skype, email available).
- Meeting you in your home, a café, doctor clinic, hospital, park or anywhere else that suits you.
- Helping you to get to your HIV medical appointments if you need it.
