You may be aware that the Community HIV Education and Prevention (CHEP) Program have been busy planning for the roadtrip of the year… Rapid Roadshow 2014.
Decked out in our 1950’s flamingo themed vehicles, we will be travelling along the Queensland coast – from Port Douglas to Burleigh – raising awareness of HIV and rapid HIV testing between 3 – 21 November. Check out the locations poster below.
We will have free giveaways, short films to watch and quizzes to test your knowledge on HIV, as well as lots of resources, condoms and information on where to test.
This project is aimed at whole of population and priority populations to Get HIV informed, Get HIV tested.
The CHEP team are working closely with local sexual health clinics and we are lucky enough to be able to do STI screening in some locations (Please note: This will not be all locations).
As we will be travelling in the lead up to World AIDS Day on December 1, we will also have red ribbons available. If you are in one of our locations and would like to support World AIDS Day by putting a red ribbon donation box on your counter, please email me and we can bring you a box when we arrive.
For more information (and to check out our vehicle), we have a CHEP Facebook page which will have up to date information and regular updates along the road. Feel free to share any information on your own Facebook pages.
From October 29, our website – www.chep.hiv – will also provide you with more details on locations and times.
Pease do not hesitate to contact the CHEP team with any questions or more specific information on your region on 07 3013 5555.
Come along and say hi, we hope to see you all soon.
