About Event

Each 9th March is the National Day of Women Living with HIV. Following International Women’s Day, the National Day of Women Living with HIV acknowledges the unique challenges, stigma, and barriers that women living with HIV face in Australia, The day encourages us all to strive towards equality in healthcare, reduction in the barriers to appropriate testing and treatment, and the elimination of HIV related stigma in our communities. Most importantly, it celebrates the courage, resilience, and achievements in their lives, and honours those who have been lost.
We are hosting a “High Tea” in both Brisbane and Cairns together with acknowledgments at all our social group gatherings on the day.
We’d encourage you to read the stories of seven amazing women featured in this years NAPWHA National Day of Women Living with HIV campaign “Yes, women get HIV, too“.
